Service Description
Equine-Assisted Activities Ride and Ground lessons help individuals with disabilities improve their physical, emotional, and social well-being through mounted and unmounted equine activities. The objective is to assist each client in achieving their maximum level of independence. Through a range of specialized activities, clients experience various benefits, encompassing emotional and physical well-being, enhanced knowledge and comprehension of horses and horsemanship skills, and the enduring impacts of these fulfilling experiences. Our instructors, supported by specially trained volunteers, lead the classes. They instruct clients of diverse ages and face various challenges in developing horseback riding skills through activities tailored to accommodate their physical, mental, and social needs. Horseback riding simulates the human gait, offering clients with physical needs opportunities to enhance flexibility, balance, and muscle strength. Moreover, riding promotes better posture, trunk control, motor function, and coordination. Instructors incorporate exercises that yield diverse sensory benefits, fostering increased attention, communication skills, spatial awareness, and socialization among participants.
